Code Red Emergency Alert:

Adams County/Commerce City Residents can subscribe to a system called 'Code Red' to inform residents in case of emergency. The system allows emergency messages to you via phone to your home phone, mobile phone and through text or email, based on your preferences. Examples of emergencies when CodeRED would be used include severe weather, public health emergencies, criminal activity, evacuation notices, fires, floods and missing person cases.

911:

911 is to be used ONLY in emergency situations.  An emergency is any situation that requires immediate assistance from the police/sheriff, the fire department, or an ambulance.  Call 911 to stop a crime, report a fire, and save a life. 

 

Text 9-1-1:

The Adams County Communications Center (Adcom911) has recently enabled the ability to receive 911 Text messages. 

You can now reach 911 by texting 911 from a cell phone.  You should only do this if you are in a situation where it is not “safe” for you to call, or you cannot call for some reason.

Adcom:

Adams County 911 offers a non-emergency line if you need assistance but it is not an emergency.

How long have you been with SACFD: Since 2008 How did you get started as a firefighter: Both my parents were firefighters and that lit the fire and followed in their footsteps. Started with Skyline Fire and the Refinery before switching to SACFD. What do you love most or the most rewards part of SACFD: Commerce City is a very tight-knit and diverse community with major traffic corridors, commercial, refinery, and communities and it's a fun place to work! Advice for anyone going into the fire industry: My military service background helped (I served 5 years in the army) and the fire industry correlates with a team environment. Our job here at SACFD requires you to stay active and physically fit and be a productive member of a teamâ€Ķstick with it!!! Activities: Hunting and fishing with wife and bird-dog Scarlet Favorite Foods: Fried Rice and know to cook some chicken wingsâ€Ķ all-time favorite is El Jardin Chicken Fajitas!

Jeff Osmus - Captain - Station 23 "Derby Devils) Hometown: Thornton, CO SACFD Since: 2017 (15 years) - Knew I wanted to be a firefighter after high school and had a buddy (Jeff Woog) push me to put in an application at SACFD and have been with the department and loving it ever since. - One of the most rewarding parts is working with amazing co-workers and working alongside my brother. - SACFD has the dedication, support, and real brotherhood-sisterhood and is one of the best places to work! - Hobbies: staying physically fit and playing golf. - Favorite Foods: Steak, Potatoes, and Chipotle

SACFD Training and Wellness Center: Purchased in 2021, the training site is 4 acres with a 40,000 sq. building. “The Pound” is a state-of-the-art indoor training space with administrative offices, a quartermaster area, multiple conference spaces, and two clean, one dirty classrooms all with audio-visual capabilities. The indoor training bay is a space large enough to accommodate various fire apparatus with a water drainage system for indoor suppression drills. The wellness side of the building includes our in-house physical therapist, a Work Comp Doctors' Office (once a week), in-house physical fitness assessments, a professionally designed gym for training tactical athletes (firefighters), and a post-workout/training sauna. Our training center also includes an SCBA washer, bunker gear extractor/dryer, and duty uniform clothing washer/dryer to reduce the risk of contamination from work-related carcinogens.

⭐ïļSACFD Employee Spotlight ⭐ïļ Augdon Greening: Lieutenant - Station 24 - Tower 24 Hometown: Denver, CO SACFD Since: 2012 As a firefighter, SACFD provides every opportunity to position yourself doing exactly what you want to do. I can think of a few other districts that have the “All-Hazards” that SACFD does. The most rewarding part about SACFD is the family atmosphere and the continued ability to live childhood dreams. SACFD Year in Review: The South Adams County Fire Department responded to 10,667 calls for service in 2022, which is 500 more calls than in 2021!
